Radio Signals

In Return Echo, information does not appear instantly.

Ships, stations, relays and authorities communicate through physical signals that move through space. A distress call may arrive too late. A reply from a station may be based on stale information. A rumour may be distorted by the time it reaches you.

What the player experiences

  • Distress calls can arrive late.
  • Station replies are delayed.
  • Signals can be weak, blocked or unreliable.
  • Relays matter.
  • Silence can be suspicious.
  • Information itself becomes cargo.

Why it matters

Radio turns knowledge into gameplay. The player is not just flying through space. They are flying through incomplete information.
