Overview

Law in Return Echo is local, informed and imperfect. Stations and patrols respond to records, reports, scans, reputation and observed behaviour. Their knowledge may be incomplete or delayed.

Why it matters

Authority becomes part of the simulation. A pilot can be legal but suspicious, trusted in one system but unknown in another, or wanted somewhere the news has not yet reached.
